PERSONAL BACKGROUND

Kevin Wolfe was only 5-years old when he was awestruck by his first magic trick.  His uncle had returned from foreign country with a small, metal finger chopper.  Kevin watched in amazement as his uncle seemingly sliced right through his finger.  Ever since then, Kevin has been devoted to the art of magic and illusion.

Kevin Wolfe has spent the last 26 years pursuing his dreams of becoming a professional magician & hypnotist.  He began to read voraciously as a child, knowing the only way he could learn magic was through reading books.  He taught himself simple tricks then worked his way up to more complex illusions.

Kevin practiced a lot. Not hard for a shy kid who lived in the remote Eastern Washington mountains with his dad.  He lived in a one-room shack with no power, telephone, running water or a car.  He walked 3 miles everyday to a small Christian school in the outskirts of the Northport area, but was kicked out for practicing magic tricks & hypnotic stunts.  They thought it was the work of the devil.  Kevin is proud of what he has accomplished, going from rock bottom and now headlining fairs & festivals with his 4-ton magic & hypnosis show.

Kevin's first professional show was at the age of twelve for an adult party, he soon became the hit of the party and made about $50.00 in tips for the performance!  The show gave him the confidence he needed to perform in front of crowds and soon his "closet magician" days were over.

He won the school talent contest every year at his high school and was offered a chance to attend a summer drama session at Western Washington University.  This experience brought him invaluable knowledge about lighting, voice projection, dance and music, which he has incorporated into his show.

Kevin's high school counselor told him to get his head out of the clouds and settle on a real job, but the jokes on the counselor because Kevin is doing very well.

One of Kevin's goals was realized when he met his idol, illusionist David Copperfield.  Copperfield was doing what Kevin always wanted to do: he was using all the elements of theater.  Kevin not only met Copperfield and performed on stage with him, but also was invited to join his road tour as an on-stage assistant.  But Kevin, who was exhausted from a yearlong road tour he had just completed, turned him down.

Since then Kevin has performed on his own television special on the Discovery Channel, The Leaning Channel, and interviewed on CNN with “The Magic Of Learning”.  He has also been featured on various television news interviews talking about his upcoming magic & hypnosis shows and has given live demonstrations that have baffled the news staff’s throughout the Pacific Northwest.

Kevin has his own professional show called The Unexpected Magic & Hypnosis of Kevin Wolfe.  He performs over 300 shows a year and entertains thousands of people each year.

Kevin hauls his 4-ton show with his 20' long by 11.3' high by 8' wide mobile outdoor stage to fairs and festivals.  All he has to do is plug in, get ready in the dressing room, open the stage, fire up the lights & sound equipment, and it's show time. This is the most complete show for fairs & festivals in the state of Washington!

Kevin also performs a comedy stage hypnosis show, The Power of Hypnosis (A Comedy Hypnosis Experience). In this show, Kevin hypnotizes 10 - 20 audience members and a moment later has them performing hilarious skits with Kevin as their comedic hypnotic tour guide.  All this is done without embarrassment to the volunteers.  The audience plays a vital role in all of the shows.

Kevin Is an Advanced Certified Hypnotherapist, Pediatric Hypnotherapist and an Emergency Hypnosis Instructor specializing in emergency pain control and pain management. 

Kevin went to New York this past April (2000) and updated his teaching credentials by becoming a Certified Instructor of Advanced Hypnotherapy through the National Guild of Hypnotists. 

With this certification, Kevin is able to teach people how to become hypnotherapists certified through the National Guild of Hypnotists. Kevin will teach people everything from hypnosis theory to conducting stop smoking / weight loss programs to opening a hypnotherapy office.

Kevin also runs a small hypnotherapy office in Silverdale, Washington called HypnoSolutions Hypnotherapy. Kevin helps people achieve their goals with powerful hypnotic techniques with such issues as smoking, weight loss, Phobias, Reading, Public Speaking, ADD/ADHD, Sales, Motivation and many other obstacles.

Kevin's wife, Jodi, is also his assistant and regularly has herself sliced in three pieces and pierced with light bulbs before audiences across the Northwest. You may even see Kevin's children floating, being sliced and diced, appearing, or disappearing in the show.

One thing an audience can always expect from Kevin Wolfe is the unexpected.  Kevin combines humor and his own brand of imagination to keep the audience stimulated and laughing throughout his performance.

His main objective is to entertain the audience while suspending their belief.  Kevin believes it's not just fooling he audience, it's about entertaining them.

Today, Kevin Wolfe is living the dream he had as a young boy.  His world is filled with magic and every show offers him the opportunity to delight a new audience.  "There is nothing more satisfying than hearing the applause from an audience or just seeing the looks of amazement and joy on their faces."

Kevin says his next big illusion will be to make his receding hairline move forward…he’s still working on it!
